MARGARET G. STILL

Margaret G. Still is a painter and photographer. She received her B.A. and M.F.A. from U.C.L.A., studying with William Brice, Richard Diebenkorn, Gordon Nunes, Elliot Elgart, and others. She grew up in Manila, Philippines, and Hong Kong, has lived in Los Angeles, New York City, and Memphis, and Saugerties, New York.

“The strangeness and beauty of what appears ordinary, the way color can be used as an emotional force, the nobility and living presence of objects in space, and the co-existence of freshness and decay are what fascinate me as a painter. Some of the art I'm doing now is based on memories of being on the road and the photographs I have taken over the years.”
